My daughter was diagnosed with scoliosis at the age of six (2016). Upon discovery we were already at the point of needing bracing. I initially followed the lead of our doctor and we started with the Boston Brace. It didn’t keep her curve from increasing. I heard a friend of a friend talking about the WCR brace and how it worked for them, so we gave it a try. Once we saw the results from the WCR we knew we were on the right track. We even got her curve down to zero for a long while! After we outgrew our first WCR, our insurance suddenly didn’t cover the next brace at all! That’s when our orthotist told us about the Align Scoliosis Foundation. Luckily, Align stepped in to help us continue our journey with another two WCR braces. We have been doing this for many years now and the only time my daughter doesn’t have a low curve is when she is outgrowing her brace. She also wears her WCR brace only at night time now. It’s less hours for her, and for me it’s peace of mind that she will ultimately avoid surgery since she is getting the best result we can give her.
