My daughter was diagnosed with scoliosis a couple years ago, but at the time, the curvature was not enough to require a brace and her doctor suggested we just monitor it. Fast forward to this past October when she broke her arm and had to get x-rays. At the time of x-ray, her doctor asked if we wanted to get a follow-up x-ray of her back. At this time, we found it had progressed to a curvature that needed to have bracing. Our financial situation was not a good one and we struggled to figure out how we would afford it when our insurance would not cover it.
I was referred to the Align Scoliosis Foundation by my sister and was relieved and ecstatic that we were accepted. I am not sure we would have been able to afford the brace she needed had it not been for them. She wears her brace religiously at night and we are excited to see how it is helping her when we go back for the follow-up x-ray. She has already said that she has less back pain during the day than she used to. I cannot thank the Align Scoliosis Foundation enough for all of their support at this incredibly difficult time.
